How to record a meeting and pick your microphone.

Recording a meeting
- Click Start Meeting in the sidebar.
- A Select microphone dialog appears. Choose the microphone you want to use from the dropdown. You can switch to a different microphone at any time while recording — the audio keeps going without a break.
- Optionally turn on Share system audio to also capture sound playing on your computer (for example the other people on a video call). Your browser will ask which screen, window or tab to share — pick the one playing the audio. This is off by default and opt-in per recording.
- Click Start Meeting. The first time, your browser will ask for microphone access — allow it.
- Recording starts straight away. You'll see a live timer and the microphone in use.
- When you're done, click Stop & generate notes. The recording is saved and you're taken to the meeting page while notes are generated.
You don't need to enter a title or tags up front — Nembi writes a title and suggests tags automatically once the transcript is ready.
Recording in the background
You don't have to stay on the recording screen. Move to another page in Nembi and the recording keeps running, with a badge showing the live timer so you can jump back or stop from anywhere. If you accidentally reload or close the tab, you're offered an instant recovery screen to pick up where you left off.
Choosing a microphone
The dialog lists every microphone your browser can see. Your last choice is remembered for next time.
Tips
- The recording keeps going in the background, but keep the browser tab open. If you try to close it, your browser will warn you first.
- Speaking in mixed languages (for example Urdu and English) is fine — the transcript is translated into English for you.
- System audio can only be captured through your browser's screen-share dialog — that's a browser security rule, so it can't be pre-selected for you.
Troubleshooting
- No microphone was found — connect one and click Try again.
- Microphone access was denied — allow access in your browser's site settings, then try again.
- Your browser does not support audio recording — use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
